Directions

The Historic Lydia Spring House is located in Stanardsville, VA.  We are situated just off Route 33, four miles east of Skyline Drive.  Blue Ridge Pottery (your check in point) is the first building on the right after leaving the Shenandoah National Park on Route 33. There are directions to the pottery below from all of the nearby cities.

If you are checking in after 5:00pm, a "Late Check in" is required. This involves us sending you an extra email with detailed directions to the Cabin, rather than the check in location, and a key code. Let us know in advance and we are happy to arrange this for you!

From Charlottesville

Distance: approximately 28 miles.

1. Take US-29 N. to Ruckersville.
2. Turn LEFT onto SPOTSWOOD TRL/US-33 W.
3. Follow US-33 W. approximately 11 miles.
4. After Stanardsville, you will start to climb some winding foothills. You will then descend again. We are the next left after the Excel Gas Station.
5. Turn LEFT onto VA-625/GOOSE POND RD. and take an immediate right into our parking lot.

From Harrisonburg

Distance: approximately 27 miles.

1. Take US-33 E. and follow towards the Blue Ridge Mountains. Approximately 25 Miles.
2. Go all of the way over and descend to other side.
3. Once the road flattens out, start slowing down. You will pass sign saying "Leaving Shenandoah National Park."
4. Clear the tree-line and take first possible right onto VA-625/GOOSE POND RD.
5. Take an immediate right into our parking lot.

From Richmond

Distance: approximately 95 miles.

1. Take I-64 W towards Charlottesville approximately 63 miles.
2. Take the US-250 exit (exit number 124) toward CHARLOTTESVILLE/SHADWELL.
3. Turn RIGHT onto US-250 W/RICHMOND RD. Continue to follow US-250 W. 2 miles.
4. At bottom of big hill, Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto US-250 BYP W/LONG ST. Continue to follow US-250 BYP W. approximately 2.5 miles.
5. Take the US-29 N ramp toward WASHINGTON.
6. Take US-29 N. to Ruckersville.
7. Turn LEFT onto SPOTSWOOD TRL/US-33 W.
8. Follow US-33 W. approximately 11 miles.
9. After Stanardsville, you will start to climb some winding foothills. You will then descend again. We are the next left after the Excel Gas Station.
10. Turn LEFT onto VA-625/GOOSE POND RD. and take an immediate right into our parking lot.

From Washington DC

Distance: approximately 110 miles.

1. Take I-66 W. approximately 32 miles.
2. Merge onto US-29 S via exit number 43A toward GAINESVILLE/WARRENTON.
3. Stay straight to go onto JAMES MADISON HWY/US-17 S/US-15 S. Continue to follow JAMES MADISON HWY.
4. JAMES MADISON HWY becomes US-29 S. 27.8 miles
5. Turn Right onto SPOTSWOOD TRL/US-33 W.
6. Follow US-33 W. approximately 11 miles.
7. After Stanardsville, you will start to climb some winding foothills. You will then descend again. We are the next left after the Excel Gas Station.
8. Turn LEFT onto VA-625/GOOSE POND RD. and take an immediate right into our parking lot.
